The nursing career is on built on achieving, regaining and maintaining the optimal health of individuals, families and communities. Nursing assistant skills are used to help residents or patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and to provide bedside care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Its modern definitions involve promoting individuals’ optimal health from birth to the last days of life. The American Nurses’ Association (1980) defined nursing as “the diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health problems.” Nursing diagnoses help in the planning, implementing, and evaluation of nursing care.
