A Staff Nurse’s Responsibilities

Many people enter the nursing world because of the many benefits that they can acquire. Alongside these benefits are a number of responsibilities that a staff nurse is designed to accomplish. There are different responsibilities for the different type of nurses. A nurse can be a registered general nurse, RGN, or a registered mental nurse, RMN. An RGN is a nurse who doesn’t perform a specific kind of job unlike the RMN who stays and tends people afflicted with mental illnesses. As much as possible, RGN’s should be able to expose themselves in the different areas of nursing so that they are able to do their work better. Nurses are also able to work in different kinds of settings like in hospitals, community health centers, clinics, in the home of the patient and many others. In the hospital, they can also be found in different departments including the Intensive Care units, out-patient unit or the in-patient unit. In general, nurses have different responsibilities based on the areas they are in.

Staff Nursing : Benefits and Responsibilities

Nursing does not stop with earning a B.S. in Nursing. Nurses are required to take the licensure exam to be called a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or staff nurses. This is usually the path which nurses take because earning a nursing license will allow the nurses to work without a specialization.
