Nursing is such an important career that everyone benefits from. Certified nursing assistants (CNA) are nurses which help out or work as nursing aids. They do provide assistance to Registered nurses whenever it comes to providing care for the patients. This usually involves being able to perform basic nursing techniques such as bathing, feeding and grooming patients. Whenever the nursing staff does a routine check, they should be there to assist in checking vital sighs of the patient. They should posses knowledge in the skills that nurses have as well as in knowing how to operate such equipment. In order to be a CNA, they should be able to complete a 6-12 week program training them for such tasks.
Licenses practical nurses (LPN) are basically in charge of all the manual and practical work that are involved in patient care. Their responsibilities would include having to give shots, reading blood pressure and pulse, administering shots and giving medication. These are basically the tasks assigned but depending on what the situation calls for, LPNs may be assigned a different job each time. LPN requirements would include going to a nursing school which offers a program to be an LPN. This would usually involve 2-3 years of schooling and training in order to be able to work as an LPN and continue studies to be a Registered Nurse.
Registered nurses (RN) are the cream of the crop when it comes to nursing. These are the nurses which have been trained properly and educated properly for a long time. This career would usually involve 4-5 years of schooling in a university and graduating with a B.S. Nursing degree. Taking the license exam will allow the nurses to become licensed Registered Nurses. This is what sets them apart. With a Registered Nurse license, they will be able to work in more opportunities in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. They can work as forensic nurses, surgical assistant and even nursing management. The diversity of being an RN is what is making this as the top nursing career choice of most people.
